The American Legion is a nonprofit serving veterans, past and present, who uphold a lifelong commitment to service. Our members include former service members, professionals, musicians, artists, and community leaders united by a shared responsibility to support each other and strengthen their communities. Guided by values forged in military service—integrity, accountability, and resilience—we provide veterans with resources and advocacy, lead community programs, and partner locally to improve lives.
At Arlington American Legion Post 139, we’re changing the way veterans connect and support one another. Members have access to free, on-site legal and benefits assistance from George Mason University Law School & the Virginia Department of Veterans Services—real help & support when you need it.
Our post is home to working artists and musicians who lead regular art exhibitions, live music nights, and collaborative mural projects that celebrate veterans’ stories and talents. These programs enrich our community and build strong connections throughout Arlington.
Post 139 is a place where younger veterans step up and lead. We encourage fresh ideas, active participation, and shared leadership to help shape the future of our post and the veteran community.
