Too Many Daves & The Brass SOULution
Everybody loves a party, and Too Many Daves & the Brass SOULution has kept the people of the Washington, Baltimore, and Annapolis area partying for over twenty-five years. This eclectic group of R&Bers was originally formed with four members named “Dave”. Too Many Daves & the Brass SOULution, or TMD for short, delivers as much power, intensity, and versatility as possible for an eleven-piece group. With a mix of recognizable covers and original music covering R&B, Soul, Pop, Funk, and Rock-n-Roll styles, TMD offers something for everyone.
TMD features a solid four piece rhythm section that sets the foundation, three featured vocalists to project the message, five background harmony vocalists to sweeten the sound, and the best five piece horn section in the region to kick butt! TMD capitalizes on its members’ talent and extensive and varied musical backgrounds to develop a unique and exciting sound and presence. Every song is a wall of sound and energy, from the most driving R&B tune to the sweetest ballad.
The Brass SOULution, unlike the brass sections of many other bands, is a featured component of TMD, providing a special spark to many classic R&B tunes originally performed by James Brown, Sam & Dave, Aretha Franklin, and Wilson Pickett, and current performers like Bruno Mars, Tower of Power, Stevie Wonder, Carlos Santana, and Bonnie Raitt. But it doesn’t stop there; The Brass SOULution also provides a unique sound and texture to songs not normally associated with horn bands.
