David Moran

I am somewhere on the musical roads and rails, traveling from the Woody Guthrie 1930s to the Jackson Browne 1970s, with stops along the way to sing traditional songs, songs by Bob Dylan and other classics, and older country standards.
I have played solo and in a variety of groups over the years. I think a musician wants to get some recognition for the work put in learning the material.

My style comes from listening to lots of albums and musicians, especially blues, traditional country, and bands and artists like Bob Dylan, The Band, John Prine, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and the Grateful Dead.

I believe playing guitar and singing is a time-honored tradition, so I just keep playing since most music is carried on this way and people like to hear some familiar songs. I think putting my own mark or style within the song is what keeps it going.

I have played many gigs in the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck of Virginia over the past ten years, including Farmer’s Markets in Deltaville, Urbanna and Irvington, and have played numerous events at the Deltaville Maritime Museum. Since moving to Stafford I have played music at the Fredericksburg Farmer’s Martket multiple times, Long Family Market at the North Stafford Commuter Lot many times, Eden Try Winery, Nokesville Winery, Silver Branch Brewing at Warrenton Station, and Barley Naked Brewing.
