Bill Vaughan
Bill Vaughan began playing piano at an early age and was performing in bars for tips by the age of 12. He has been singing and performing ever since in and around Washington D.C., across the United States and the universe. He has written more than 200 songs over the years in a wide range of styles, including rock, blues, country, folk and jazz. He has performed with such legends as Roberta Flack, Conway Twitty, Hank Snow, Dave Allen, Danni Leigh, Mac Walter, the Wilkins and many others. Bill has performed on cruise ships, casinos and resorts in venues around the world. In 2005, he his wife, artist, Laurel Vaughan, moved to Woodstock, Virginia, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. His CD, “Songs From the Valley” is inspired by the beauty and history of that place. Songs from the Valley includes popular originals “Cantaloupe Pie”, “Dark and Stormy” and “45 Miles from Berryville”. His critically acclaimed album, released in 2015, is called “Phthalo Blue” and includes the song, “A Phthalo Lullaby” performed at the World Trade Center memorials in 2014 and 2015 in New York. BIll’s latest CD, “A Life in the Year” includes 12 songs, one for each month of the year and is the result of a creative collaboration with artist, Laurel Vaughan, who created 12 paintings to accompany each song on the album. In 2020, Bill released Holiday Card a collection of one original and 11 holiday songs from a streaming holiday concert for the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. And in 2022, Bill released the critically acclaimed album, 20/20 Vision, including 12 new original songs, including the singles, “I Can Fly” and “Moline”. His critically acclaimed show, “Piano Man” features many of his own tunes as well as great songs from legendary pianists/songwriters; it is regularly received by standing room only audiences wherever it is performed. Currently working on new ideas and material, Bill performs regularly in and around the Shenandoah Valley both solo and with his band and tours, when the spirit moves him.
