Ben Turner

Ben is an active composer and arranger, having written for Michael Dease on his recent release, “Swing Low,” the US Army Blues, and the Philadelphia Ambassador Big Band.

Ben has a passion for education and has taught at local music schools, all while maintaining a private studio. Ben has taught improvisation and ensemble courses at Michigan State University, in addition to joining the faculty at Interlochen Arts Academy as adjunct instructor of jazz guitar for the 2022-2023 school year.

In October 2023, Ben successfully auditioned for the guitarist position in the United States Navy’s premier jazz ensemble, the Commodores. He joined the band in fall 2024.
