Biography

The Airport 77s fly out of Washington, D.C.

No, they’re not airline pilots, but they do want to take you somewhere special: to that magical place where tight harmonies, chunky guitars and a relentless beat can make the world right, if only for three minutes at a time.

Guitarist Andy Sullivan toured internationally with beloved Minneapolis country-punk outfit Steeplejack in the 1990s before moving to Washington.

Drummer John Kelly kept the beat in the 1980s D.C. power trio The Item.

After two critically-acclaimed albums with founding bass player Chuck Dolan, The Airport 77s invited Cal Everett (ex-4 Out of 5 Doctors) into the cockpit for their third record, “Don’t Let Go.” The latest crewmember to join the band is bassist Gina Cocco.

If you like Cheap Trick, the Cars, the Knack (and Paul Collins Beat, Bram Tchaikovsky, Rick Springfield…) we think you’ll like The Airport 77s.
